Misc. Monday-Mother's Day Weekend

Happy Monday everyone!
I know Mondays are hard
{Miah almost missed his bus this morning},
but the sun is shining and there's no rain in the forcast for the entire week, and this thrills me.

Now, let's talk about my weekend.

Friday & Saturday
My parent's took Nehemiah friday night, which allowed me to detox from my
 not-so-good-horrible-very-bad-week.
I made myself a lovely pasta dinner and camped out in front of the tv to watch this movie

via

It was an okay movie with some funny elements, but I felt it was very predictable.

After sleeping in {which was fantastic might I add} I decided to pamper myself a little.
I took a nice hot bath, did my eyebrows and my nails, and then enjoyed a big cup of coffee in my quiet house.  The quietness allowed me to re-group and pull myself together.
I really needed this.

Later in the day I grocery shopped without any pain in my legs :)
{reminder, due to the Fibro shopping is usually a very difficult task}
and then we headed over to my friend Lisa's house for dinner.

 Sunday
I woke up early to go to church with my mom.
Now ya'll remember that my mom attends the church I no longer attend, and I don't like visiting there.
It was Mother's Day, so I sucked it up and went with my mom without any complaints.
To my suprise, I actually had a nice time.
All my mom wanted for Mother's Day was to attend church with her daughters, and of course I delivered.
Nehemiah bought her a little something too, which was nice.

When I came home I got to open my Mother's Day gifts.
Let's remember that Nehemiah is only 4, and he didn't quite get that I bought the gift he picked out lol.
He was so excited when he saw this in the store...

He saw the zebra prints and it was a wrap, he knew his mama had to have it!
Plus he picked out a pink flower for my hair, which I wore to church.
Then I looked in his bookbag and found a little something.
He made me a craft of his two hands{which are in pink paper}.
Holding the hands apart, there's a strip of green paper and his teacher helped him write
"I love you so much."
I will probably keep this forever.
Nehemiah remembered that I love zebras, and that pink and green are my fav colors.
He did good!

Oh, and my mom got me a card {with a little suprise in it} that has a girl on the front wearing pink and white zebra stripes,
and she's drinking a cosmo.
She know's me so well!

I also forgot to mention that Lisa {I mentioned her above}got me Netflix for a year.
{now I can watch the first seasons of Gossip Girl!}
And because it was such a special day you know Mary and I chatted.
Tomorrow morning I'm taking Samantha out to breakfast because she spent her Mother's Day working.
I wouldn't be half the mom I am today without these strong ladies in my life.

I'm so blessed to have an amazing support system.

How did you spend Mother's Day?

  3. Happy belated Mother's Day!

Unfortunately, my dad had had a mild stroke Friday, so Mother's Day plans changed cos of that. During the whole weekend, I babysat my 6 little adopted siblings, my brother spent a great deal of time @ the hospital w/my parents & my sister cooked dinner Sunday. My mom said that was one of the best Mother's Day gifts she could've gotten...it helped alleviate some of the stress. Plus, my 10yr old sis insisted on using some of the money she made with her lemonade stand to buy my mom a gift.

It wasn't the Mother's Day we would've liked to have had for Mama, but it turned out pretty good.
