Boob Tube Babble

Happy Friday my lovelies.
The past few days have been hell and I'm so glad my dvr was there to bring me some relief.

Here's what I've been watching.

I'm loving this show.

Especially because of this guy...

Mr. Big is back!
He looks so good doesn't he!?

Plus this guy
{remember him as Logan Huntzberger, Rory Gilmore's boyfriend?}
  Isn't he scrumptious!?
This show is packed with drama and bit of suspense.
I just started watching a little while ago, so I can't really
give you an accurate synopsis.

The next show I watched this week was...

Braxton Family Values.

I'm loving this show, but sometimes Toni Braxton's baby sister Tamar wrecks my nerves.
Tamar is married to music exec. Vince Herbert who produces artists such as Beyonce and Lady Gaga.  It's evident that Tamar is jealous of Toni's music success because she's constantly whining and complaining that her husband won't sign her.
Plus, she always makes every situation about her.

And

I've saved the best show for last...

O.M.G.
did anyone else's jaw hit the floor when they watched this week's episode?
I couldn't believe what Serena did to Blair.
That was just foul.

Thanks again to Neely and Meagan for creating such a fun link up!

Y is for Yes, I love Television

Today is the very first Boob Tube Friday
with Neely and Meagan
and I'm so excited!

But before I forget...
I won a giveaway
over at Leigh Ashley!
You should def go check out her blog and her Etsy shop, Barberry & Lace.
You'll love it.
Ok, back to tv.
I love television
although I'm very adamant on not having it on all the time
let's not forget about Nehemiah's well-being.

Anyway, throughout the week I watched some good stuff
so I was having a hard time trying to figure out which show I wanted to post about.
Then I watched some recorded shows on my dvr and ultimately I had to feature

 G. L. E. E.

Did anyone else love this week's 90 min episode?
If you didn't watch you seriously need to go here and view it.
It was awesome!

I won't do a full recap because I wouldn't be able to do it justice.
Yes, it was that good.
I will tell you that each member of the Glee Club had to identify something about
themselves that made them each unique, which is why Lady Gaga's
Born This Way was the featured song.
The kids all made shirts that stated what their uniqueness was
hence the picture above.

I loved this episode because it identified that everyone usually has something they would like to change about themselves.  However, that one thing is what sets you apart from everyone else.
No conformity is needed.
And this my friend is why Glee rocks!

My shirt would read:

not skinny

What would your shirt say?

R is for Reality TV

I'm a big reality TV junkie and in my crazy world
reality TV = reality
Now I'm well aware that just because a show is labeled as reality
it does not mean it's an accurate portrayal of someone's life
I attribute this little fact to the L.A. Candy Series
but all that aside, I still get wrapped up in the drama
and the fabulousness of a world so different than my own.

Here are my favorites

A Fabulous Life?

I was so excited to watch The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion last night.  It was great, and I can’t wait to see the second half next week.  I’m hoping that Camille {who I love to hate} and Kyle can put their differences aside, and agree to disagree so they can move on!
On another note, I was thinking about life and all that good stuff which goes along with it.  This led me to the question, how do you know if you’re living your best, most fabulous life?  What is the basis of a fabulous life?  Often our society places much emphasis on the material aspects of life, such as how much money you have, the kind of car you drive, and your style of clothing.  Oh, and don’t forget to include the type of shoes on your feet.
Personally, I don’t feel that material objects justify a fabulous life.  In the midst of the chaos, I know that I am fabulously blessed.  I have more than I need, and I have never gone without.  Not to mention that I have the most awesomemest {this is a word from the Thomasina dictionary} kid one could ask for!  Now don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the material aspects of this life as well.  I hope that one day my life does become even more fabulous, so that I can enjoy some of the material stuff.  For instance, designer handbags would look quite lovely in my closet!  I wouldn’t mind designer labels occupying my hangers as well.  I just know that too much focus on material goods can definitely lead to an unfabulous life.
Well my sweets, it’s time for me to start my day. This entails cleaning my house, and then retail therapy with my mom.  My fingers are crossed that it doesn’t snow!
Enjoy your weekend, and remember to stay sweet!

Movie Night

When I got home last night, I was so excited to see two red envelopes in my mail box. Yep, they were my Netflix movies. I was even more excited because the night had offered me the opportunity to sit down and actually watch the dvd's.

I decided to watch Confessions of a Shopaholic. Although I didn't find the book all that amusing, I decided to give the movie a try anyway. How bad could the movie be; she shops and looks fabulous right?

Just as any book-made-movie, the plot was much different. Instead of Becky living in England, she was in NYC, different but no big deal. For the first 30 minutes I was interested in Becky's life, mainly because of all the clothes, shoes and shopping. After that, it was a wrap; I was bored.

Maybe the movie didn't peek my interest because I was expecting Becky's character to emulate the infamous Elle Woods. Everyone knows that Legally Blonde is my number one movie of all time. Right next to Clueless. A smart, sexy girl who loves pink; how could I not love Legally Blonde? Although the endings to both movies are highly un-likely, I have to give Confessions a thumbs down. It was just too unbelieveable. I have to say I enjoyed the book much more, which still doesn't say all that much.

After the dissappointing movie, I decided to watch the other dvd.
I don't have cable anymore, so I Netflixed a series that seems to get a lot of buzz. I have never actually watched the show, so I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about it. Wondering what series I decided to follow?

Gossip Girl! OMG, I'm sold. After watching just the first episode of season 1, I'm totally hooked. I'm all for drama (especially when it doesn't involve me personally), and Gossip Girl definately is packed with it. I can't wait to watch the rest of season 1.
So I guess I could say that Gossip Girl saved the night. It's not often that I get the chance to sit and enjoy and a good flic, and I was utterly disgusted that I wasted a spot on my queue with Confessions. However, all those emotions flew right out the window once I started watching my new favorite series. I think I've found a new love.
